Curriculum for the Online MSW

Study Modern Social Work Theory and Practice

  • 30–60 credit hours required
  • Complete the 60-credit-hour MSW program in 3.5 years
  • Our MSW program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), ensuring an education at the forefront of industry standards. Upon graduation, you may be eligible for licensure in your state. Please be sure to review and understand the licensing requirements for the state in which you plan to practice.

Coursework in the online MSW program consists of 10 core courses (which total 30 credit hours) and two elective courses (which total six credit hours). You'll be required to complete 1,100 hours of field experience as part of the program. You will also choose from specializations in Direct Community Practice or Direct Clinical Practice, which are each made up of eight courses (24 credit hours).

Advanced Standing students will begin the MSW program at the specialization level, and complete eight courses totaling 30 credit hours (with a reduced practicum of 550 required hours).
